Scott has since gone on to earn acclaim for his role on Severance
Amy Poehler may have wrapped Parks and Recreation years ago, but her admiration for Adam Scott is still going strong.
On the latest episode of her Good Hang podcast, Poehler was joined by Paul Rudd — who guest-starred on the show for three seasons — and the two couldn’t help but gush about Poehler’s on-screen husband, Ben Wyatt, played by Adam Scott. Since wrapping up the NBC sitcom, Scott, 52, has gone on to star in the Apple TV+ series Severance.
“I can’t believe I get to work with my favorite people in the world — you, and Adam, and [Kathryn Hahn], and [Rashida Jones],” Rudd said to Poehler, 53, during the episode.

“He’s such a good actor. Clearly, everyone’s obviously recognizing this,” Rudd added, referencing how Scott has since earned Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for his role as Mark Scout on Severance.
During their conversation, Poehler chimed in, sharing how — even on the set of Parks and Rec more than a decade ago — she admired just how talented Scott was. And, she even wasn’t afraid to tell him.
“I used to say that to him in real-time when he was acting,” Poehler, who played Leslie Knope, continued. “I’d be like, ‘You’re acting so good!’ And he’d be like, ‘Shut up.’ We’re in the middle of the scene, but I’d be like, ‘You’re acting so good!’ “
In February, the NBC series celebrated 10 years since its finale. The show originally aired for seven seasons, from 2009 to 2015.
Speaking to PEOPLE on April 5 at Apple TV+’s ‘A Mysterious and Important Invite on Behalf of Severance‘ event, Scott also reflected on his time on the show, including a “great scene” the Parks and Rec cast “couldn’t stop laughing” about in season 4’s “The Comeback Kid.”
In the episode, Poehler’s Leslie enlists her department to help stage an eye-catching campaign event for Scott’s Ben at a local ice rink. Things take a chaotic turn as the team makes their entrance — slipping, falling and dragging each other across the ice in shoes in a hilariously clumsy sequence.
“I remember when we did the table read of that, everyone was laughing,” Scott recalled. “We couldn’t stop laughing. Just thinking about what it would look like and then you know it was even funnier than that once they shot it. I think it’s one of the great scenes.”
