President Donald Trump announced he will attend the 2025 Ryder Cup, likely making it the next big sporting event he will attend as president.
The Ryder Cup is a golf tournament between the U.S. and Europe coming up in September in New York.
“At the invite of the PGA Tour, I will be there on Tournament Friday!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Aug. 23. Trump also weighed in on the question of who should be on the team, as U.S. captain Keegan Bradley considers playing. The last person to captain and play on the team was Arnold Palmer in 1963.
Trump has made sports a part of his presidency, planning a UFC fight at the White House for 2026, forging a relationship with FIFA president Gianni Infantino and appointing other golf pros to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. What events has he attended?
