President Trump is reportedly getting involved in college athletics!

Leaders in university sports — and it’s been going on for years now — have been taking trips to Washington D.C. by the boatload to lobby for help from U.S. Congress.

Well, they may soon get what they want, as it appears that President Donald Trump and the White House could be stepping in.

Trump has plans to launch a presidential commission on college sports, which is the first step in a journey that could go on for months to fix the problems going on in the landscape, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.(RELATED: Trump Announces One Of Sports’ Greatest Spectacles Will Come To National Mall)

Several sources, which are within college athletics and Congress, spoke to the outlet anonymously because they’re not allowed to talk about the president‘s plan. A number of stakeholders in college athletics have been contacted about the situation. It’s not currently known when an announcement could be made.

As far as the details of the commission, all that information is being kept behind the curtain for now, but it’s expected to include stakeholders, businesspeople and possibly an ex-coach and administrator.

The intentions of the commission are to look into the college athletics landscape, including the transfer portal, the unregulated element of athletes getting paid by boosters, student-athlete employment and the debate around it, payments revolving around revenue-sharing and Title IX, the makeup of conferences and television contracts, per Yahoo Sports.

Fantastic! Now can we launch a commission on how to get rid of the federal income tax?
