NEED TO KNOW

  • Triplets Grace, Rose and Maudie Orgill thought they wouldn’t bump into each other when they all decided to study at the same college, but things didn’t quite work out that way after they were assigned to the same six-person dorm

  • The 21-year-old sisters have just graduated from Cardiff University in Wales

  • “Our rooms are actually closer at uni than at home,” Grace told U.K. outlet ITV News

A set of triplets have graduated from the same college in Wales after initially planning to go their separate ways while they studied.

Rose Orgill — who just graduated from Cardiff University alongside sisters Maudie and Grace, all 21 — said that ending up at the same college “happened by chance.”

“Ideally, we wanted to split up, but we all fell in love with Cardiff on the offer holder day, when the sun was out, something we later realized is pretty rare,” Rose told U.K.outlet ITV News “We agreed Cardiff was big and, because we were all studying different subjects, we were sure we wouldn’t bump into each other all of the time.”

But that didn’t end up being the case and the sisters ended up getting assigned to live in the same six-person student apartment.

“it was like moving home from home with them to be honest,” Rose said. “Our rooms are actually closer at uni than at home.”

When it came to their studies, the sisters did forge their own paths.

Rose earned a degree in chemistry, Grace got a degree in biomedical sciences and Maudie earned a BA in history.

At graduation, the triplets — who are from Gloucestershire, England — came together to pay tribute to their late grandfather, who died shortly before the ceremony.

“Unfortunately, their grandfather passed away suddenly on the day of Rose’s final chemistry exam,” their mother Clare told ITV News.

“The girls each wore a ribbon and forget-me-not flower on their gowns in memory of him, a beautiful reminder that he’s still with them, cheering them on,” she said. “Just like us, he was so incredibly proud of our girls.”

As for what’s next for them, the Orgill sisters are planning to travel around South East Asia before starting their careers.
