NBC has officially given the green light for Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe’s new comedy series. Entertainment Weekly can confirm that the network has picked up the single-camera comedy pilot, currently titled The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, for a series order.
The show will follow a former football player (Morgan) who’s fallen from grace as he sets off on a mission to rehabilitate his image and win back public approval. NBC announced the series’ pilot order in March, revealing the reunion of several 30 Rock alums who serve as executive producers and writers for the new comedy.
In addition to Morgan starring, Tina Fey will serve as an executive producer alongside Robert Carlock and Sam Means, both of whom have deep 30 Rock roots and are part of Reggie Dinkins‘ writing team.

Carlock served as an EP and co-showrunner of 30 Rock, a role he shared with Fey. The pair have worked together on several projects since the Emmys darling aired its last episode in 2013, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Great News, Mr. Mayor, and the 2016 film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which starred Fey and was written by Carlock.
Means runs in a very similar circle, having written for 30 Rock, Great News, and Kimmy Schmidt, as well as co-executive produced Mr. Mayor.
Fey and Morgan both worked on Saturday Night Live in 2000, where they overlapped for four years. They then starred together on 30 Rock throughout its seven-season run as the unpredictable screwball Tracy Jordan (Morgan) and his hamstrung TV producer boss Liz Lemon (Fey). Reggie Dinkins marks their first collaboration since the show bowed.

The crew behind Reggie Dinkins includes two more 30 Rock producers, Eric Gurian and David Miner, who return as EPs. Rhys Thomas, a Documentary Now! director and SNL producer, was tapped to direct the pilot.
Radcliffe was announced as Morgan’s castmate soon after the pilot order. Radcliffe will play Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s mansion to shoot an immersive documentary about the erstwhile star athlete.
The Harry Potter and Swiss Army Man actor has worked with Fey and company before, appearing as Prince Frederick in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend.
It’s far from Racliffe’s first time on the small screen; his last recurring TV role was on the anthology comedy Miracle Workers. His other recent credits include the movies Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and The Lost City, and a voice role on the animated Netflix series Mulligan.
He also recently completed a sold-out run of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, which earned him his first Tony Award at the 2024 ceremony as well as a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theatre Album.

As for Morgan, his last recurring TV role was on sitcom The Last O.G. He’s also set to star on the Paramount+ comedy series Crutch, premiering later this year.
Along with Morgan and Radcliffe, Reggie Dinkins also stars Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall.
