If there is one thing Tina Knowles is always going to do, it’s defend her daughters.
On Saturday, August 9, Tina, 71, posted an impassioned defense on Instagram of Beyoncé alongside a video of the young songstress thanking her parents during a 1988 speech.
“This is bittersweet! The reenactment of her speech and twirl,” Tina began the post. “Yes, her career has come full circle from that moment, when she won her first “Peoples Workshop award “to her doing it on her sold out concert tour in Houston. She thanked her parents and Houston!”
She continued, “As a Kid with big dreams, She made a commitment to work hard! Polish her craft, take vocal lessons, dance lessons, sacrifice, focus, train, and mind her own damn business and does not mess with anybody. She sticks close to her family. She never gossiped or put anybody else down, to make herself feel better.”

Her oldest has “never wasted her time on being jealous, she was taught very early on that her time and energy could be better used to focus on herself, to practice and perfect her craft. So she complimented others. And remained humble,” Tina also wrote. “She was inspired and respectful and paid homage to those great artists that came before her. She gave back to her community. She has never used someone else’s name to get publicity or attention for herself. No one lives rent free in her head because she is obsessed with them or jealous of them.”
“She has also NEVER constantly criticized other’s looks, talent, and character. Has never lied on, or started false rumors about others, has never started one-sided beefs with anyone, to get her name on mainstream media outlets or be relevant or in the current news,” Tina insisted. “She chose to rely on her talent and hard work and her own name. But if she has helped you stay relevant or to get your name in the press. I’m very happy she could help you. You’re welcome! God bless You🙏🏽 Ps. if you haven’t done any of these things, then this does not apply to you. But if the shoe fits, I’m sure we will be hearing from you.😆 10,9,8,7,6,5 ,4 ,3 ,2,1.”
This is hardly the first time Tina has put stories and rumors about her daughter to bed via social media. In December 2024 she had choice words for those who criticized Beyoncé’s halftime performance during the Christmas NFL game.
“It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later😂😂,” Tina captioned a reshare of a post that called out negativity directed at the singer.
“Obviously you are so obsessed with them , addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke !!” Tina also wrote.

A year earlier, Tina came out swinging against accusations that Beyoncé had lightened her skin for the premiere of her Renaissance film.
“Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self, hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white,” Knowles, 69, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, November 28. “She does a film, called The Renaissance, where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire and you bozos decide that she’s trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin?”
