Without hesitation, The Four Seasons star and writer named her favorite: the 2003 spoof commercial titled “Mom Jeans.”

The hilarious sketch, which mocks high-waisted jeans and front pockets, has become a classic among comedy fans—and is even credited with helping to popularize the term “mom jeans.”
In her conversation with Stern, Fey also revealed a surprising personal connection to the sketch’s jingle.
“Because my husband worked at SNL, he wrote the jingle for ‘Mom Jeans,’” she said. “We’re just living off that ‘Mom Jeans’ money.”
The fake commercial may be Fey’s favorite, but it’s also a fan favorite. Co-starring Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, and Maya Rudolph, the sketch has inspired thousands of Halloween costumes and helped cement mom jeans as a cultural shorthand for a specific, high-rise style of denim.
