Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner just hit a milestone in their relationship of about two years: their first red carpet appearance.
The couple hit the carpet Wednesday at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome. The A Complete Unknown star and the influencer–The Kardashians costar both dressed in black-tie attire for the event, where Chalamet was scheduled to receive the David for Cinematic Excellence honor.

Jenner had supported Chalamet on the awards circuit as he was nominated for awards including the Oscar, but they didn’t walk the red carpet together. The two have kept their relationship mostly private, although, as PEOPLE noted, she questioned what she wore to the Golden Globes to support Chalamet in an episode of her Hulu series: “Should I have looked like this at the Golden Globes with my tits out?” (He ultimately lost his category of best actor in a drama to Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.)
The Dune star’s latest win is for his overall body of work.
“Timothée Chalamet’s European origins and American background make him one of the most unpredictable and talented protagonists of international cinema today, capable of being both an auteur performer and a star generating trends and styles,” Piera Detassis, the president and artistic director of the Academy of Italian Cinema, said in a statement. “The Academy is delighted to award him the David for Cinematic Excellence, which is meant to be an acknowledgement of the great actor of quality and innovative films, and, at the same time, of the global protagonist.”

Jenner was noticeably solo at Monday’s Met Gala, where she wore a custom Ferragamo gown. While she was stunning fans, Chalamet was watching an NBA playoff game between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.

Even though the two have kept their romance mostly under wraps, they’ve been affectionate in public before.
A source also told PEOPLE in August that Jenner is “incredibly happy” with Chalamet.
“She’s never been in love like this before,” the source said. “He’s great for her.”
