If, like us, you’re in a perpetual Drive to Survive obsession hole, you’ve probably wondered once or twice about the personal lives of our favorite Formula One stars…especially that of Lewis Hamilton. Ever since his pretty high-profile relationship with Nicole Scherzinger, it feels like we’ve not heard a huge amount about the love life of the championship winner—despite the fact he’s been linked to a number of big names from Kendall Jenner to Rihanna. (Yes, really.)
As one of the best F1 drivers and co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, Lewis is a highly sought-after man…but he’s reportedly single at the moment. Here’s your complete rundown of Lewis Hamilton’s dating history, starting from the beginning (because, who knows…you could be next on the list!).
2002: Danielle Lloyd
As an up-and-coming sports star, Lewis dated model and TV personality Danielle Lloyd for around six months back in 2002 after meeting in a nightclub. “We were both out with friends, but there was a bit of a spark, and we swapped numbers,” Danielle later told the Daily Mail in 2007, confirming that they dated for six months. “After that, I went back to Liverpool and he lived in London, but we stayed in touch.”
While the relationship wasn’t meant to be, she has spoken previously about how the romance ended amicably, saying that they were friends for some time afterward. “It was love at first sight,” she said during her Daily Mail interview. “I’m so pleased for Lewis. To see him doing so well makes me proud.” Lewis even showed up to support Danielle when she was crowned Miss England in 2004.
2003–2007: Jodia Ma
Lewis and Jodia met while they were students together at Cambridge and were in a relationship for four years between 2003 and 2007. As Lewis became more of a household name, he and Jodia eventually split, but she spoke about his incredible driving success in the press shortly after and had nothing but good things to say, even telling the Daily Mail, “I know he will win the championship.”
2007–2015: Nicole Scherzinger
Relationship rumors started circulating about Lewis and Sunset Boulevard star Nicole Scherzinger after they were spotted looking cozy at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2007. The two reportedly first met at an MTV awards ceremony and went on to date off and on again for nearly eight years (and were even rumored to be engaged!) before finally going their separate ways.
“I’m devastated that it didn’t work out. It was the hardest decision we had to make, but we made it together,” Scherzinger said in a statement at the time. “I love Lewis, and I know he loves me. We wish nothing but happiness and the very best for one another. I’m trying to stay strong in my faith right now.”
2015: Gigi Hadid
Following his split from Nicole, Lewis was *briefly* rumored to be romancing supermodel Gigi after they were spotted together on several occasions in May 2015, but nothing was ever confirmed.
2015: Rihanna
In August 2015, Lewis raised eyebrows after he was seen spending time on Rihanna’s yacht in Barbados (and later partying with her in New York), but Lewis denied he and Rihanna were anything more than friends.
“You know, I’ve known Ri for a long time,” he told E! News. “We’ve been friends for a while. We get to hang out every now and again but otherwise, we’ve just been friends.”
2015: Kendall Jenner
Just after he was linked to Rihanna, Lewis ignited new rumors with Kendall Jenner after he and the model were spotted together on several occasions. Unlike with Gigi, however, Lewis confronted the relationship rumors head-on.
In an interview with E! News, he said, “Me and Kendall have been friends for a while, so we’re just friends.”
2016: Barbara Palvin
Before she was Mrs. Dylan Sprouse, Barbara Palvin was linked to Lewis briefly back in 2016 after they met at the Cannes Film Festival. She was then seen with him at multiple Grand Prixs during the 2016 season.
However, it was not meant to be between these two and things seemed to fizzle out.
2016: Rita Ora
Once again, while Rita and Lewis never confirmed their relationship, they were pictured together on multiple occasions, often looking pretty cozy.
In 2016, the pair took a luxury holiday to Montenegro together, where they were papped messing around by the pool together and spraying each other with a hose. That same year, she also attended the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with him, even taking a picture with his mom, Carmen Larbalestier.
2016–2017: Winnie Harlow
Lewis and Winnie were first photographed together at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in September 2016…and though Lewis told Ellen DeGeneres that he wasn’t dating anyone for the following month, he and Winnie continued to fuel romance rumors.
In 2017, the duo was spotted hanging out in London, Cannes, Monaco, Monte Carlo, and Greece—but neither Winnie nor Lewis ever spoke out to confirm or deny the relationship.
2017: Sofia Richie Grainge
Another similar unconfirmed relationship from that year was Lewis and Lionel Richie’s daughter, Sofia Richie. The pair were papped looking pretty close at Couture Fashion Week in Paris, and rumors continued for some time about them going out on a few dates together.
2018: Nicki Minaj
As if being papped together at New York Fashion Week in 2018 wasn’t enough, Lewis and Nicki began sharing pictures of each other on social media, including snaps of a holiday to Dubai they apparently took together.
Despite a lot of rumors and a few flirty Instagram comments, the relationship was never officially confirmed.
2021: Camila Kendra
Hi, remember when she dated The Bachelor’s Tyler Cameron? Not long after their breakup, Camila got fans talking after she posted a selfie in front of what looked like Lewis’s trophy wall. However, her reps were quick to shut down speculation.
“Camila and Lewis are absolutely not dating,” her rep told Us Weekly in a statement. “They are just friends and nothing more.”
A source later told Us Weekly that Camila hung out with Lewis during a family trip to Europe but “did not stay at his house.”
2023: Shakira
Back in 2023, Shakira and Lewis hung out on a few occasions, and she even flew to Barcelona to watch Lewis at the Spanish Grand Prix (after which they reportedly went out to dinner!). However, she later told Rolling Stone that the relationship wasn’t romantic.
“I’m not thinking about that,” she said. “What space do I have for a man right now?”
2025: Sofía Vergara
While nothing was ever confirmed about this one, Lewis did spark dating rumors with Sofía after they were spotted on what appeared to be a “flirty” lunch date, per TMZ. According to the outlet, the pair sat next to each other, and the actress was “so engaged in the conversation she barely touched her food.”
However! A source for Us Weekly later claimed the gathering was “merely a casual lunch with a big group of friends in a group setting” and “by no means a date.”
