A man from Uruguay now holds a unique record — biggest eyeball pop!
Williams Martin Sanchez Lopez has the ability to relax the muscles around his eyeballs, enabling him to safely push them forward away from his skull, per Guinness World Records. The result is a startling and cartoonish eye-bulging effect, technically known as protrusion.
Williams’ eyeballs can currently protrude up to 0.74 inches out of his skull, per the outlet.

“It started when I was a kid,” he recalled. “I could basically move the upper and lower part of the muscles around my eyes, [and] over time I perfected my skill until at last I was able to move the eye completely out of its socket.”

While speaking to Guinness, Williams said that his eye-popping ability pairs well with his goofy personality.
“I’m a person who likes to kid around and laugh, so the fact that I can pop out my eyes — let’s say that it’s a very different point of view in general,” he said.

And while Williams enjoys his world record, his loved ones are confident it won’t go to his head.
“I don’t think my father could ever change because of a record, because he’s always been a kind and altruistic person,” his daughter Rosa told Guinness.
“I’m very proud of my dad, I believe in him, I always knew he could do it and he’s had a beautiful journey,” she added.
While Williams holds the overall world title for farthest eyeball pop, American Kim Goodman holds the title specifically for women. The outlet reports that she can pop out her eyeballs by a distance of 0.47 inches.
