Jennifer Lopez is the first to admit she had a tough 2024. She divorced Ben Affleck and had to cancel her This is Me… Now tour.
The “Waiting For Tonight” singer got honest with El País about how she’s spent the last year: reading a lot of books and doing a lot of self-introspection.
She told the Spanish paper, “Over the past year, I really dug deep into what are the patterns that I’ve had and why they happen and what is it about me that’s creating these patterns.” The Maid in Manhattan star explained that she’s done all kinds of therapy and is constantly trying to better herself.
Most important to her amidst her divorce from Affleck, she said, was making sure her family remained strong, and that her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, knew she would be okay.
“I said, ‘I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you’re going to see that I’ll come out the other side stronger and better,’” she told El País, recalling her conversation with her children which she shares with ex Marc Anthony.
“I promised them that and I did it. And they feel it now. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life,” J.Lo added.
Now, getting ready to embark on her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour, the singer says she feels better than ever. She said, “I have a few songs that I’ve been working on and maybe I’ll debut them soon. And those will be very indicative of what I’m feeling now, which is kind of free.”
Lopez is all about reinvention, and we can’t wait to see what era she embarks on next.
