The Young and the Restless fans saw Michael (Christian LeBlanc) promise Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) he was going to break away from Victor (Eric Braeden) for good.
In true soap fashion, Michael walking away from the mustache won’t be an easy thing to do. Victor is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it, at any cost.
LeBlanc opened up to Soap Opera Digestabout what’s next for his alter ego as May sweeps wind down.
“Michael is going to have his work cut out for him. With this revving up of the ancient feud between Jack and Victor, the stakes get a little higher,” LeBlanc previewed. “We’ve got exciting places to go. There’s a lot of surprises ahead… there’s so much coming after this,” he shared with the outlet.
There’s no question that Michael is playing a dangerous game, thinking he can walk away from Victor. It’s not that, though, that keeps Michael working for the mustache.
Michael wants to be a guardrail for Victor in his quest to get revenge on the Abbott family, especially Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor). The tactic isn’t working so well, and LeBlanc revealed that “things come together” in Victor and Michael’s friendship/working relationship.
I like Michael for making the decision to end his employment as Victor’s fixer or whatever his role was but we all know this won’t last. #yr pic.twitter.com/IXCrSC7fko

While the on-screen dynamic between Michael and Victor may be intense, the off-screen dynamic between LeBlanc and Braeden is nothing but pure love and enjoyment. LeBlanc admitted there’s a lot of laughs behind the scenes.
“He really is a joy to work with, and it’s exciting. He’s just like you would imagine,” LeBlanc gushed about his costar.
Things are about to change with Victor and Michael as the latter pulls away from his boss. Y&R fans will have to keep watching to see what happens next with the two men.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
