“The View” co-host Ana Navarro claimed Tuesday night that a renewal of enforcement operations at farms would cause inflation to return at grocery stores.
The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday that illegal immigrants working at farms and hotels could still be targeted for enforcement operations carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The move came as President Donald Trump hinted that such operations might be paused to allow the agency to target sanctuary cities in a Thursday post on Truth Social.
Navarro said that grocery prices would go higher because of the shift. (RELATED: ‘That’s Not Going To Happen’: Jonathan Turley Delivers Reality Check About ‘Otherworldly’ Demand From Dems)

“What’s going to happen here is that we’re going to find that milk gets a lot higher, because I don’t know if any of you have ever been in a dairy farm,” Navarro claimed during an appearance on “CNN NewsNight.” “It is god-awful work. We’re going to see that groceries and vegetables are higher.”
“We’re going to see an effect in our economy, because whether people like it or not, whether Americans acknowledge it or not, undocumented immigrants are an integral part of our society and our economy,” Navarro continued.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 2.4% year-over-year in May, following a 2.3% increase in April. Grocery prices overall fell the most in five years, driven by a sharp decrease in egg prices.
ICE operations have faced resistance in parts of the country, with Trump ordering 700 Marines to back up the deployment of federalized National Guard troops June 9 as riots continued into their fifth day following a June 6 raid by ICE in Los Angeles. Rioters also stormed an ICE facility in Portland, Oregon, Saturday, injuring four officers.
Resistance to ICE operations to arrest illegal immigrants has also included a Milwaukee judge who allegedly helped an illegal immigrant briefly evade ICE agents sent to arrest an illegal immigrant and Democratic Mayor Freddie O’Connell of Nashville releasing the names of ICE agents involved in a crackdown on illegal immigrants in the city. Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander of New York City was arrested by ICE agents Tuesday after he allegedly interfered with an operation in a Manhattan court.
