Fans are getting closer to the release of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4.
Star Trek: SNW star Anson Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, shared an update about the show on his Instagram account on July 25. The actor re-shared a post from the fan account, Star Trek Strange New Worlds Fans, that showed Captain Pike with his arms crossed. In the caption of the post, Mount confirmed that the show’s fourth season just wrapped production. According to the caption, the fifth and final season of Star Trek: SNW might begin production in late 2025.

A few fans flocked to the post’s comments section to share their excitement about Star Trek: SNW Season 4.
“Congratulations on wrapping season 4 guys,” wrote a commenter.
However, some commenters shared they were disappointed about the show ending after its fifth season.
“It’s good to know there will be a fourth and fifth season, the sad thing is that the story came to an end,” commented a fan.
“Fifth and FINAL?? I will lodge a protest there are at least THREE more seasons of epics to film !! You all are killing and upping the game each episode and season,” added a different Instagram user.
Mount spoke about Star Trek: SNW ending after its fifth season during a June 2025 interview withStrange New Pod. He said he almost couldn’t believe that he has been working on the show, which premiered in 2022, for as long as he has.
“It feels like, ‘Wait what? Five seasons how did that happen?’ And it’s bittersweet,” said Mount during the interview.
He also compared leaving Star Trek: SNW to the end of his series, Hell On Wheels, which ran for five seasons until 2016.
“It’s like when I ended Hell On Wheels. You can kind of step back and say, ‘Okay that was a chapter.’ You know? You really grew with that show,” said Mount.
The third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is currently airing on Paramount+.
