Simone Ashley opted not to attend the Met Gala this year, choosing to keep a low profile this Monday after attending an IWC Schaffhausen event in Miami on May 1. It would’ve been her third time going had she attended.
In 2022, Ashley stunned at the Met Gala in a black cape and bronze bodice, a custom Moschino look designed by Jeremy Scott. It was her first Met Gala appearance, and the dress code was “Gilded Glamour.” The Bridgerton star had her hair swept up, and wore several glimmering pieces from De Beers jewels.
In 2024, she attended again for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme. Then, she wore a sequin gown by Prabal Gurung made of semi-sheer fabric that created a tantalizing cutout effect with its criss-crossing bodice. She accessorized with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a delicate bracelet by Zoya. Ashley left her hair down in a long wavy sweep and sported smoky purple and black eye shadow, channeling 1970s musical icon Cher.
In an April 2024 interview with Vogue India, Ashley shared how her life has changed since her success with Bridgerton.
“Life after Bridgerton has been so exciting,” Ashley shared. “I was doing all these unbelievable things, like going to the Met Gala and shooting fashion editorials. It was a whirlwind. There were days when I would think, ‘What is going on?’ I struggled to admit that I was overwhelmed because I’m a person with such clarity. I know exactly what I’m doing and what I want. I remember sitting with my team at the beginning of the year and saying, ‘I want to focus on work.’”
