The Moment Alison Brie Knew She Was Serious About Dave Franco originally appeared on Parade.
In interviews as part of the press tour for their new horror film, Together, actors Alison Brie and Dave Franco are opening up about their real-life marriage and relationship. In one recent interview, the Glow actress shared the moment she “knew” she was serious about her future husband.
It all started with Franco’s cats.
“I was the single guy with two 18 pound cats,” he told People. “As you can imagine, that kind of weeds out the dating pool a bit. Not a lot of girls are into that. But she fully embraced it.”
“Loved those cats,” Brie agreed.
Franco went on to explain that when the couple first started spending a lot of time together, he spent “most nights at her place and the cats were getting kind of neglected.”
“And he would also have to get up at like 7 in the morning to go home and feed the cats,” added Brie.
So, eventually, Franco asked Brie: “Hey, I’m not trying to overstep here. I’m not asking to move in. But would it be OK if I move my cats in?”

Brie said she didn’t even hesitate in her response. “Yeah, move the cats in,” she told him. “This makes total sense.”
She says it’s the moment she “knew.”
Franco, Brie, and the cats lived together at Brie’s original place for “at least a year” before Franco got rid of his old apartment.

In the comments of the interview posted to TikTok, most people agree on one thing: a man with two cats is a huge green flag.
“A single man with two cats is a win win,” wrote one TikTok user, with another writing, “not a lot of girls are into that? I feel like every girl ever would be swooning.”
