Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett took aim at first lady Melania Trump during a heated house hearing that turned into more of a personal attack.
Crockett targeted Melania’s modeling career and ridiculed her U.S. citizenship, but ended up scorching herself in the process when the internet responded to her attacks.
Crockett ripped into Trump by relentlessly mocking her and saying, “I’m confused as to why my Republican colleagues aren’t talking about the lack of integrity when it comes to the president’s family’s Visas,” she said. “Melania, the first lady – a model, and when I say model, I’m not talking Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford or Naomi Campbell-level – applied for and was given an EB-1 visa,” Crockett said, as she cruelly laced into President Donald Trump’s wife.
She went on suggest Melania couldn’t have earned an “Einstein Visa.” Social media ignited as others chimed in to correct Crockett and throw insults right back at her.
Melania moved to the United States as a model on an EB-1 visa in the 1990s before becoming an American citizen when she married Donald Trump in 2006.
Crockett’s unprompted attack on the first lady continued.
“You’re supposed to have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer, being an Olympic medalist, or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics,” she said, as she took aim once more.

“Last time I checked, the first lady had none of those accolades under her belt … It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that the math ain’t mathin’ here.”
The backlash came fast and furious. A social media user called Crockett a “degrader” in a lengthy post shared on X.
“Ms Crockett needs to learn a basic but invaluable life lesson: Lambasting others doesn’t elevate the one pointing fingers; in fact, it does the opposite. It puts the degrader in the fishbowl for all to see and reveals their true character,” the user said.
“Melania had a career and MONEY. She didn’t come here as an illegal criminal broke and on dope,” an internet user wrote in Melania’s defense.
“This happens when you elect a low IQ DEI lightweight to office.. Texas is embarrassed,” another person said.
User MissPeach cautioned, “Jasmine Crockett is obviously looking to make a name for herself. In a bad way. Trying to demean Melania won’t go well for her.” (RELATED: Melania Trump Turns Heads At Congressional Picnic)

Other comments included, “Crockett is a racist, loud mouth, pin head disgrace to congress,” as well as a comment that reads, “She’s a very low IQ person so what do you expect? When you have to attack another woman with insults it shows that you are not intelligent.”
The Trumps have not issued public comment.
