‘And Just Like That…’ Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago hid a cat-inspired fashion easter egg in Carrie Bradshaw’s season 3 wardrobe.
Miranda’s fashion is “happy” this season with a big focus on jewelry, Seema channels Bianca Jagger, and Charlotte’s style is as polished as ever.
They also break down each character’s special color palette, including Lisa Todd Wexley’s International Best Dressed list closet.
In the Sex and the City universe, fashion is always the main character—and that’s doubly true in the 2020s reboot. Whether it’s Carrie Bradshaw’s new favorite shoe brand or her controversial cloud hat, New York City’s favorite fictional friend group generates as much fashion discourse as ever in And Just Like That…’s third season.
Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago keep the show’s sartorial spark alive with a high-low mix that’s updated for 2025: whimsical clutches, preppy polka dots, and even a little modern-day couture. Ahead, they break down the biggest easter eggs, distinct color palettes, and real-life inspiration behind season 3’s leading ladies.

Sarah Jessica Parker wears a mix of vintage and contemporary as Carrie Bradshaw in AJLT…
Carrie Bradshaw’s Season 3 Fashion Easter Eggs
When it comes to Carrie’s fashion, Rogers and Santiago make sure to drop special nods to the character’s life in clothes. “We did a couple of really sneaky feline things,” says Rogers. One such nod to the character’s new pet, Shoe, was a chic printed dress featuring a subtle cat pattern.
“We don’t force it,” adds Santiago, explaining the duo’s approach to hidden details. “The fans know exactly where it’s from.” In Season 3, special nods to Carrie’s legendary wardrobe include a shot of her famous Eiffel Tower purse displayed in a closet scene, and a Chanel top that pays homage to a similar piece she wore in the original Sex and the City series.
As Santiago puts it, it’s more about surprising and delighting fans, than continuously pulling from the archive: “It’s an Easter egg for a fan to watch and see, and to just catch it and fall in love with it again.”

Cynthia Nixon channels Katherine Hepburn in plaid and cream on And Just Like That… Season 3.
Miranda Hobbes Channels Katherine Hepburn
Miranda’s style, on the other hand, often channels a real-life fashion icon. “Miranda’s palette came a lot from [AJLT director and writer] Michael Patrick King, who really likes to reference Katherine Hepburn,” says Rogers. Pieces like menswear, structured blouses, and jumpsuits are character mainstays. And the color palette for Cynthia Nixon includes “earth tones because of her red hair,” like yellow, red, olive, and orange.
Nixon herself is often involved in the accessories piece. “Believe it or not, she’s a jewelry-obsessed actress,” says Rogers. “We’ll get the whole look done,” explains Santiago. “And then she’ll go through bins and bins, boxes and boxes of jewelry to be able to find the perfect earring, the perfect necklace.”
Season 3 finds Miranda settling into her own skin after her breakup and divorce, and her clothes match that energy, says Rogers, who put Nixon in more “happy clothes” to reflect the character’s state of mind.

Kristin Davis wears classic pearls and florals as Charlotte York in her Upper East Side life.
Charlotte York’s Upper East Side Polish
The clothes for Charlotte York often find Kristin Davis wearing pieces that deliver her signature Upper East Side prep. “She’s got a very classic color palette,” says Santiago. This includes black, white, navy, and a pop of pink. “We love to put her in all different tones of pinks,” he explains, while Rogers adds that Burberry and “anybody that’s doing a polka dot” is a no-brainer for Charlotte.
“I think she has a very strong sense of seeing something on a rack and knowing. That is so Charlotte is what she’ll say and clap her hands,” says Rogers about working with Davis. Other character hallmarks include a beautiful high heel (both costume designers admit to being shocked by how well she can wear a stiletto all day) and head-to-toe “perfection” in her coordination and polish.

Nicole Ari Parker wears a colorful high-fashion look as Lisa Todd Wexley on And Just Like That…
Lisa Todd Wexley’s International Best Dressed List
The key to Lisa Todd Wexley’s style came from a note via King: “He described her as being on the International Best Dressed list,” says Rogers. “For us, it’s always about boldness and color,” adds Santiago, citing color blocking as a styling go-to for the character. Jewel tones and bold patterns (like a feather print caftan) make up the lion’s share of her wardrobe. And they often put actress Nicole Ari Parker in fantastical jewelry that plays with scale.

Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel wears sequin snake skin on a date in Season 3.
Seema Patel’s Bianca Jagger-Inspired Wardrobe
For Seema, the costume duo describes the character’s palette as “slinky,” adding that the team used to call Seema “panther” for the character’s love of animal prints and sleek designs. Umber, gold, mocha, and cream make up the color palette for Sarita Choudhury’s outfits on the show.
“Our inspiration was Bianca Jagger,” says Rogers. The AJLT costume team takes cues from the fashion legend’s sharp suiting, eveningwear, and love for shine, citing a sequined chocolate tuxedo as the perfect “drinks with Carrie” outfit for the character. Seema’s elevated, luxurious wardrobe matches her lifestyle: “She’s not picking the kids up from school. She’s a high-powered real estate agent. So she is out in the mix of New York,” explains Rogers.
