She is an amazing singer/songwriter who has released 11 original studio albums, 4 re-recorded albums, 5 extended plays, and 4 live albums. She has 14 Grammys and is an undeniable cultural icon, but what she isn’t is a football fan, at least not until she started dating 35-year-old Travis Kelce, the three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in September, 2023 amid tons of public scrunity and speculation about their status. Since then the scrutiny has only grown, as has their fondness for each other, something they never shy away from exhibiting publicly.
Recently they gave their fans more insight into their relationship when Swift was a guest on the New Heights podcast that Travis hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the retired center who played 13 years for the Philadelphia Eagles, winning one Super Bowl. In what immediately became their most watched episode ever, the Kelce brothers talked with Swift about her relationship with Travis, her father, her career, and, in one of the most anticipated moments of the year, Swift announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, revealing the cover, tracklist, and release date.

Amid album announcements and laughs, Taylor dropped a very surprising tidbit about her first date with Kelce. She admitted that although she has learned a lot about football since that night, she went into their date knowing less than nothing and proved that when she asked Travis what it was like to line up against his brother Jason during Super Bowl LVII, not realizing that since they both play offense, that could have never happened.
“I now know what an insane question that was,” she said, “I thought everyone was on the field at the same time. I thought it was Jared Goff is here and Josh Allen is here. And they blow a whistle and they go at each other. And it’s like, ‘Who’s going to win?'”
Swift added that it was Kelce’s not judging her for not knowing that, saying it was one of the things that made her like him and that like has turned into a very deep love. Since then, she has come to know all about football, saying, “I fell in love with it, I became obsessed with it.” She even joked about making it a future career move, “I’m not ready to be an analyst right now, but give me 16 months.”
