Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet and more are soon to learn the true importance of cerulean as the newest cast members of The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The star-studded group joins Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, all of whom will reprise their roles from the original 2006 Oscar-nominated film. Also soon to step into the offices of the fictional Runway magazine are comedian Caleb Hearon and Broadway stars Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora.
Tracie Thomas, who played Hathaway’s onscreen best friend Lily, and Tibor Ravitz, who played the chairman of Runway‘s parent company, will also be back. Variety first reported the casting news.
Simone Ashley (Bridgerton) also has a mystery role in the new film, per Deadline. PEOPLE reached out to a representative for Ashley, 30, to confirm.

Kenneth Branagh will play icy media mogul Miranda Priestly’s (Streep) husband, per Deadline. Meanwhile, Adrian Grenier, who starred in the first film as Nate Cooper, is not expected to return for the sequel.
While plot details remain under wraps, 20th Century Studios announced on June 30 that production on The Devil Wears Prada 2 has already begun.
The 2006 movie was adapted from former Vogue assistant Lauren Weisberger’s book of the same name. Weisberger worked for the former Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, who recently stepped down from her position at the magazine after 37 years.
The film sees recent college graduate Andy (Hathaway) thrust into the high-intensity world of fashion and global media, as she juggles her humble past with her bright future working as an assistant to the cold and particular Miranda Priestly.

A release date for the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada has yet to be announced, but multiple outlets reported in May that it is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
