Move over butter yellow and tomato girl red—there’s a new condiment color taking over your feed this summer. Not to be dramatic, but it’s kind of a big dill.
Before you get your panties in a pickle, quit your brining because the hottest shade of the summer is serving up BDE (Big Dill Energy). According to Pinterest’s 2025 Summer Trend Report, dill green is the latest foodcore fad to saturate your For You Page and satiate your appetite for culinary-inspired clothes.
Just ask Pinterest’s Global Trends and insights Lead Sydney Stanback, who says your sandwiches and drinks—the search for “pickle margaritas” is up 100% by the way—won’t be the only places pickles are popping up this season.

The dill hue has been all over the red carpet in the last year—from Taylor Swift’s pickle-back liquid sequin Golden Globes gown to Joey King’s bedazzled cucumber-color Met Gala suit. Darkish green dill has also made countless appearances on designer runways, such as the Chloe and Miu Miu shows by way of a forest green leather cape trench and brine-colored trousers, respectively.

Pink goes good with green.
Going green is nothing new, of course. Who could forget last year’s neon Brat Summer craze named for Charli xcx’s hit Grammy-winning album? Stanback, however, notes that dill is a more subdued shade with earthier tones. The rise in popularity of this demure shade could signal fresh beginnings, according to fashion stylist and psychologist Samantha Dawn who says that “green represents growth, renewal, peace, balance, and harmony.”
It could also be a sign that in uncertain times such as now (need I say more?), we’re looking for comfort in both our food and fashion.

Ease your way into the juicy trend with little dill accents.
“Food is emotionally loaded. It’s memory, comfort, ritual, identity. Fashion is shifting from performance to feeling. In uncertain times, we don’t just want aesthetics—we want texture, taste, and story,” Fashion Psychologist Jennifer Heinen says. “Fruits and vegetables offer exactly that. They’re grounding. They let us feel something. They act as emotional anchors.”

Bread and Butter

Sage linen is a classic summer staple.
Who doesn’t love a cult classic? Linen, denim, and suede are, well, the bread-and-butter of fabrics when it comes to styling the color. Stanback adds that the aforementioned light and gauzy fabric will give dill a coastal-chic makeover.

Pickle spheres have texture, so should your outfits.
“We’re seeing Dill Green show up in all textures,” Stanback notes. Why pick just one? Mix and match fabrics and textiles to give your veggie-esque look some character. The Pinterest expert recommends “having fun with it!”
Spice It Up

Good nuts with pattern.
This whole trend is derived from a condiment meant to spice things up and give your meals a tangy finish. So, don’t be afraid to let your styling pack a punch—there’s no such thing as too many pickles or patterns. Mixed media and mismatch prints with green accents can bring a refreshing twist to an otherwise neutral color.
Relish a Monochromatic Moment

Relish in the trend with a head-to-toe green monochromatic look. One look from Chloe’s Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 collection featured forest green boyshorts and a sage blouse. Or Heinen suggests keeping it easy with a dill dress.

When in doubt, go full dill.
“If you’re bold, go full dill [with] a co-ord set or breezy sundress,” she ays.
Kosher Colors

Dopamine dressing with a kick.
Don’t be afraid to play with color. After all, some of the most scrumptious recipes come from unlikely pickle combinations. (Looking at you peanut butter and pickles!) The same method can be used when styling. Heinen suggests trying bright and unexpected pastels like “lilac or sherbet pink for joyful, dopamine-rich clashes.”
Or keep things subdued and natural. “Neutrals such as creams, blacks, and whites also pair well with the color green,” adds Dawn.

Go green with your accessories.
If diving head-first (into the jar) is too overwhelming, Dawn suggests starting small with pickled accents. “If you’re someone who wants to add color into their wardrobe, but doesn’t feel 100% committed to investing in clothes with colors, then start with your accessories.”
Try small pops of dill with “a crossbody bag, chunky earrings, a pair of slides, and even statement nails,” Heinen offers for the perfect secret ingredient to any outfit recipe.
I’ll leave you with some food for thought: In the era of Sardine Girl charms and the Labubu-palooza, it’s totally possible that pickle pendants will be the newest tasty offering on the plates of fashion lovers.
