Sunday Rose Kidman Urban may be turning heads as a young fashion model, but the 17-year-old daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had to follow some ground rules before she was allowed to make her runway debut last year.
“There are two big rules,” Sunday Rose told Nylon in a new interview. “The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16, and the second is that school always has to come first, which at first I hated, but I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.”
When Nylon later asked Sunday Rose to name one piece of clothing she’d like to swipe from her Oscar-winning mom’s closet, she went blank.
“Oh gosh, if I had to pick one, it would be impossible,” the teen replied. “I take everything from my mom’s closet. I sometimes joke with her that it’s my favorite store.”
Kidman and Urban also share a younger daughter, 14-year-old Faith. Kidman also welcomed two kids, Bella and Connor, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Sunday Rose walked her first catwalk in Paris on Oct. 1, 2024, when she wore a white dress and leg warmers to kick off the Miu Miu spring-summer 2025 fashion show.
Weeks later, her proud dad revealed during the 3rd hour of TODAY on Oct. 30, 2024 that Sunday Rose shares her mom’s love of clothes.
“Yeah, she loves fashion. Yeah, they both do,” the country music star said.
During an October 2017 visit to TODAY, Kidman joked about how Sunday Rose and Faith keep her humble.
“The great equalizer is showing the Emmys to Sunny and Faith,” said the actor. “They don’t want them. It’s so funny. It’s such a kid thing. Sunday was like, ‘Mama, I know you said we could put in our shelf but it won’t fit. We have enough things on the shelf.’”
Kidman added that her goal was to raise her daughters to have a strong sense of themselves.
“So much is stepping aside and letting them become who they are,” she said. “I don’t know if I’m teaching that as much as giving them their voices. I let them negotiate so they get a sense of who they are and what they can achieve and accomplish.”
