Former Disney Channel star Rondell Sheridan is asking for medical assistance after being hospitalized with pancreatitis.

Sheridan, 66, who appeared on That’s So Raven, took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 6, to share an update on his health.

“My pancreas is inflamed and there’s not much you can do but just wait for the inflammation to go down,” Sheridan said about how a trip to the hospital initially resulted in him being diagnosed with a “gastric” issue.

Sheridan went through “a ton of tests” before it was identified as a case of pancreatitis. The actor noted that his current condition will prevent him from being able to work for “quite some time.”

Elsewhere in the video, Sheridan asked his followers to donate to his GoFundMe fundraiser to “help with some medical bills.” The page was set up in Sheridan’s honor from a friend with the hope of raising $35,000. The amount donated so far is over $28,000 after nearly 500 donations.

Sheridan is an actor and comedian who rose to stardom playing Victor on the Disney Channel sitcom That’s So Raven. He reprised the role of the patriarch on spinoffs Cory in the House and Raven’s Home. Sheridan has also appeared on Minor Adjustments and a variety of other comedic projects.

Many fans who showed Sheridan support in the comments of his post recognized him for playing Raven-Symoné‘s on screen dad. Symoné, 39, recently reflected on her experience being in front of the camera, which started as soon as she was an infant.

“I knew it was work immediately. My parents made sure that I understood this was a job. I get paid for it and you show up professionally,” she shared in Demi Lovato‘s Child Star doc for Hulu, which was released in September 2024. “[You know what money is] when you are told how much you are getting paid for the job that you do. So I knew at 3 how much I was making and I understood it was a job. If you lose it, you don’t make that money.”

Symoné was asked whether she considered herself the breadwinner, to which she replied, “We call it a family business. Everybody has a job within the family business. Nobody likes to say one person is the breadwinner or not. Read through those lines.”

She added: “Sometimes the parent’s dreams might bleed into the child’s. And you get so enmeshed. Parents forget that young kids are performing for their parents’ love and affection. It is a lot of money and money does crazy s***.”

Symoné starred on The Cosby Show before transitioning to Disney Channel with her own show. However, Symoné admitted at the time that she no longer remembered her experience from some of her earlier projects when she was still a child.

“It is disappearing every single day,” she told Lovato about her time on in the ’90s. “Nothing is a pure memory for me right now.”
