‘Ted Lasso’ is Officially Returning for Season 4: Everything to Know originally appeared on Parade.
“Believe“ it or not, Ted Lasso is returning! Over a year after the third season came to a close, Deadline reported that the beloved series, developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, was heading towards a Season 4 greenlight.
The story of Ted, Rebecca, and the AFC Richmond team seemingly concluded in 2023, when the controversial Season 3 aired. But Warner Bros. Television Group’s Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey previously revealed to Variety that the door wasn’t shut on more Ted Lasso. “I mean, you watched the finale, there’s a little bit of a door that could be kicked back open if need be,” Dungey said. “I wouldn’t put the period on the end of that sentence just yet. There is still a lot of love for ‘Ted Lasso.’ And I think that there still is a lot of enthusiasm on the part of Apple for ‘Ted Lasso.'”
And indeed, that enthusiasm is sure to be renewed, as Season 4 is officially a go! Sudeikis said in a statement, “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap. In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”

Who will return for Season 4 of Ted Lasso?
Outside of Sudeikis, nobody on the cast has been explicitly confirmed to be returning for Ted Lasso Season 4. However, sources told Deadline that Warner Bros. Television has picked up the options on Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift.
Goldstein has previously expressed interest in a fourth season. Speaking to Parade in 2022, the Roy Kent actor said, “Oh, I would love to see 1,000 seasons. I would happily do that show until I die. I’m Richmond ’til I die.”
According to Deadline, “the studio is expected to start reaching out to Ted Lasso cast members with SAG-AFTRA contracts whose options had expired.”
Nick Mohammed, who plays beleaguered assistant coach Nate Shelley, posted in January 2025 that he would be shifting his comedy tour dates “for some filming I have not been able to shift for love of money.” He followed up by saying, “In the meantime, I would really appreciate if people just didn’t speculate as to what they think it might be,” not so subtly gesturing to a hand-painted BELIEVE sign. That’s as clear of a (literal) sign as there can be that Nate will be back for Season 4.
In July 2025, Variety reported that Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt would also be coming back as Keeley and Coach Beard for Season 4. The status of other previous cast members is unknown.
Which new cast members are in Ted Lasso Season 4?
In July 2025, Variety revealed that Ted Lasso would be adding Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely to the cast for Season 4. The exact details of their roles have been kept under wraps, except for Feely, who is slated to take over the role of Ted’s son, Henry.

Rebecca had told Ted that if he left, she would also go and sell the club. However, in the end, Rebecca sold 49 percent of the club to fans. Roy became the new manager of AFC Richmond with Coach Beard and Nate working for the team, too. The Season 3 finale also teased the possible plotline of Season 4, with Keeley showing Rebecca a binder for an AFC Richmond women’s team, which elicited smiles and cheers from the two of them.
Will Jason Sudeikis return for Season 4 of Ted Lasso?
In 2023, Sudeikis told Deadlinethat Season 3 was “the end of this story that we wanted to tell,” but he was open to spinoffs. The Emmy winner said, “Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories.”
However, it seems that Sudeikis has changed his tune since Season 3 ended. Right now, he is the only confirmed member of the cast to be reprising their role. Given where we last saw Ted, both geographically and emotionally, it will be intriguing to see what brings him back across the pond.
