The promotion began on Sunday, April 27, and will run through Saturday, May 10.

Customers can drop off old car seats at nearby stores and get a 20% off Target Circle bonus coupon for a new car seat. They’ll have until May 24 to redeem the deal, and it’s valid for two uses.

According to the company, the retailer recycles the turned-in car seats to create other new products, such as construction materials. Since the program’s inception in 2016, Target says it has recycled over three million car seats.

The current car seat trade-in promotion began on Sunday, April 27, at Target stores around the U.S., and it will run until Saturday, May 10.

Customers participating in the deal will get a coupon in the Target Circle app by Saturday, May 24.

Through the trade-in program, Target customers can get rid of an old car seat in exchange for a 20% Target Circle bonus coupon for a new one.

Target said it accepts a variety of car seats for the trade-in program, such as infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases and harness or booster car seats. The Minneapolis, Minnesota-headquartered company also accepts expired or damaged car seats.

According to Target, it recycles the old, turned-in car seats into new products like pallets, plastic buckets and other construction materials.

Target’s car seat trade-in program participants can drop off their old car seats at their store’s drop-off box.

The box will have a QR code that customers can scan, prompting them to add the coupon to their Target Circle app.

The bonus is only valid until May 24, but customers can use it twice to buy a new car seat, booster seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby gear. The eligible items are available on Target’s website.

All Target stores, except select small-format locations, are participating in the trade-in program, the company said. Customers are encouraged to contact their local store for more information.

What is Target Circle?

Target Circle is the company’s loyalty program. A Target Circle bonus is a personalized deal that customers can redeem through the retailer’s website or mobile app, according to Target.

The program offers both free and paid membership options, both of which are listed on the company’s website. Target’s app is free to download.
