Target is evoking all the nostalgia of the ’90s with its latest jelly and gliterry shoe release.
During my recent Target run, I was stopped in my tracks upon seeing the Women’s Poppy Ankle Strap Jelly Sandals by Wild Fable and instantly transported to my childhood.

The iconic jelly sandals, with their all-plastic, fisherman-style design, took the late ’80s and ’90s by storm. Now, they’re making a comeback—not just for kids, but for adults too.
The light gold sandals, which feature a closed round toe and adjustable ankle straps, can be yours for just $30.
Of course, Target hopes that you’ll forget all about the burns and blisters the shoes caused during the hot summer months, though one TikToker wasn’t convinced, sharing a video of the jelly sandals and simply asking, “Why Target? Why?”
“Oh wow 😳. Never thought I would see those again,” one shopper wrote, as another added, “Run away fast !!! Drop and run !!!”
It seems Target listened to the people (and ignored the haters), as a TikTok from 2024 showcasing the children’s jellies had requests for “adult sizes.”
“So cute but so uncomfortable” another reminisced, as someone else added, “I’m gonna pray for you the sweat the blisters I’ll pray😭.”
Another jelly shoe—this time, a flat—is also gaining traction on social media. The Women’s Isabella Jelly Flats by Wild Fable is available in a variety of colors like clear, blue, and red, and priced at $20.
“Some trends should not make a come back,” one TikTok video noted, with the “Oh No No No” viral sound playing in the background.
“I still have blisters from my jelly shoes I wore in ‘94 😅” one fan wrote, as another echoed, “My feet hurt just looking at them.”
“Omg stuff of nightmares 😭 cute after 2 weeks of breaking them in” another comment described of the horror, with another pointing out, “Ooh, sweat and athletes foot, my favorites! 🙄.”
Still, others were happy to have jelly options back, declaring, “I loved my jellies.”
So, what’s the verdict? Will you impulse buy for the sake of nostalgia? Or are you going to bypass this trend and let the younger generation learn the hard way?
