Last year, it was shared that Sydney Sweeney, the blonde bombshell known to play Cassie Howard in Euphoria, was set to star as legendary boxer Christy Martin, dubbed “the female Rocky” in her upcoming namesake biopic. And as expected, for the role, Sydney underwent a major physical transformation.
Now, nine months on from the initial announcement, Sydney has posted another image of herself as Christy in the film, this time rocking a shocking brunette mullet, a style worlds apart from her trademark look.
Sydney captioned the Instagram post, which has now racked up over 200,000 likes, “CHRISTY.” Ding ding…
Understandably, the hairdo in question is the result of a well-made wig (aka, it’s movie magic, people); however, that doesn’t take away from the drama of the transformation. After all, the shaggy texture of this ’90s mullet is so on-trend ATM. Don’t believe me? Read all about the style here.
Paying homage to the boxing champion, Sydney previously shared her gratitude for landing the role. “Well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film I’m working on right now. over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring.
