Suzanne Rogers isn’t leaving Salem anytime soon.

Amid online speculation that the veteran actress, who plays Maggie Horton on Days of Our Lives, was leaving the soap after a 52-year run, a spokesperson from the show shot down the rumors in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, saying, “This could not be further from the truth.”

“Maggie & Suzanne are integral to the show’s history, present storylines, and now, on the heels of our pick-up, the future!” the spokesperson continued. “Neither are going anywhere.”

Rogers first joined Days of Our Lives in 1973 when the soap was airing on NBC.

Originally debuted in 1965, the show made the jump to Peacock in 2022.

The “pick-up” the spokesperson was referring to was the recent two-season renewal Days of Our Lives received last week, ensuring it will air through season 63.

To date, the show has aired more than 15,000 episodes.

The two-season renewal came days after Days of Our Lives picked up 13 nominations at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards.

In addition to snagging a nod for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series up against General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, several stars also received nominations.

Among those nominated for their work on the show were Eric Martsolf, Gret Rikaart, Paul Telfer, Linsey Godfrey, Emily O’Brien, Blake Berris, AnnaLynne McCord and Ashley Puzemis.

The show also received nods in the writing, directing, lighting and casting categories.

This marked the highest number of nominations Days of Our Lives has received since transitioning to streaming.

Rogers was honored for her impressive career by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences last year.

In 2024, Rogers was inducted into NATAS’ Gold Circle, an honor for individuals who have been working in television for 50 or more years.

This honor came 45 years after Rogers won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The official Instagram account for Days of Our Lives celebrated Rogers’ 82nd birthday earlier this month, calling her “iconic.”
