Katie Holmes had a familiar face stop by the set of her latest project — her 19-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise.
The teenager was spotted walking alongside her mom in New York City on Thursday, August 7, as Holmes filmed scenes for Happy Hours, the upcoming film she’s directing, writing, and starring in. The pair chatted while strolling down the street, with Holmes holding what appeared to be a script in hand.
Holmes appeared to be in costume, dressed in a loosely tied blue patterned bathrobe layered over jeans and sneakers, her hair flopped over in a messy bun — looking somewhat like she just rolled out of bed. Suri, who largely has been kept out of the spotlight, made a rare public appearance in a more casual outfit beside her mom. She opted for some comfy cargo pants, red sneakers, and a white tank.
Another moment on set showed Holmes filming with her Dawson’s Creek co-star and real-life ex, Joshua Jackson. The two were all smiles as they reunited professionally, their on-screen chemistry still apparent two decades after the teen drama’s finale in 2003. For those who need a refresher, Holmes and Jackson briefly dated during the show’s run in 1998, but the romance didn’t last.

As for Suri, the daughter of Holmes and her ex Tom Cruise is set to return to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for her sophomore year this fall. Suri’s relationship with Tom has been the subject of speculation for years, particularly following his 2012 divorce from Holmes. After the high-profile split, Holmes was granted primary custody, and she and Suri settled in New York City. Meanwhile, reports have pointed to an estrangement between Suri and her father, with the young adult omitting her last name in her high school graduation program and opting to be called “Suri Noelle” instead.
