‘Superbad’ Stars’ Surprise Reunion Has Fans ‘Screaming’ originally appeared on Parade.
It’s been nearly 20 years since the cult classic teen comedy Superbad launched the careers of stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill — but the actors are just as close as ever, as a recent video proved.
In a clip shared to TikTok this week, Stone, 36, and Hill, 41, reunited on the Jumbotron at a San Diego Padres game at Petco Park. The pals posed with their arms around each other before turning around to show off the backs of their respective jerseys, with Stone wearing a retro 1999 Tony Gwynn jersey and Hill wearing a current Padres home jersey with his own name written on the back. Stone accessorized with dark sunglasses and a pair of hoop earrings, while Hill opted for a Padres cap.
“17 year old me screaming,” the caption on the clip read.
Commenters clearly loved witnessing the nostalgic moment.
“Seth and Jules still dating!!!” quipped one person, referring to their Superbad characters.
“Please make a Superbad 2,” begged a second fan, with another suggesting, “They could do a 20 year HS reunion movie.”
“Is there ANY hairstyle she can’t pull off?!” someone else wondered about Stone.
In a 2018 interview with Vanity Fair, Stone and Hill — who also co-starred in the Netflix limited series Maniac that same year — opened up about their ongoing friendship.
“We’ve always stayed in touch. So it wasn’t really like, ‘Oh my God, we haven’t seen each other in a decade, and now we are getting to know each other again,’” said Stone. “We’ve had a friendship throughout the entire time. It was amazing to spend so much time in a row together.”
“I’ve seen this woman grow up,” Hill added. “She started off amazing at 17, and went through large periods of life and growth, and she has all my love and respect. I really admire her. She’s the best person.”
