Sunday Rose Kidman Urban shared the rules her famous parents gave her when entering the industry

When Sunday Rose Kidman Urban decided to start modeling, her famous parents had a few rules for her to live by.
Speaking with Nylon in a story published on Wednesday, Aug. 6, the 17-year-old model shared that there were two rules her parents, actress Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban, gave her when she decided to enter the industry.
“These are two big rules,” Sunday Rose said. “The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16, and the second is that school always has to come first, which at first I hated, but I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.”

In a Vogue Australia interview published in August 2024, Kidman, 58, spoke with Victoria Beckham about taking Sunday Rose to her first-ever fashion show earlier that year. “She’s about to turn 16,” Kidman said. “That’s what I told her, when she was 16 she was allowed to come to a show. She’s wanted to go for a long time.”
She continued, “That was her foray into it, and that was it. I’m like, ‘No, no more.’ It’s a push-pull. I don’t want to hold her back because I don’t want to be coddling her.”

Sunday Rose then made her runway debut in October 2024 as part of Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2025 Paris Fashion Week show. She wore a sleeveless white dress with a ribbon-like detail on the neckline and eyelet trim. The ensemble was contrasted with black knee socks and black open-toe pumps. The teen’s long blonde hair was parted in the center and tucked behind her ears and she wore a minimal makeup look.
Since then, Sunday Rose walked for Miu Miu this past March during Paris Fashion Week.
In a TikTok video for Vogue, the model said that the halls of her high school served as practice space for her runway walks. “Whenever I’m walking down the hallway I feel like I’m strutting down to math class,” she explained. “Everybody will be like, ‘I see you’re doing your runway walk.’ “

She also shared that although her March runway was only her second walk, she’s “just hoping to bring a lot of personality” and that “Ms. Prada” (presumably Miuccia Prada, the head designer of Prada and founder of its subsidiary, Miu Miu) gave her some tips after her debut.
“Ms. Prada actually told me to take larger steps when you walk because it’s more elegant and you also are able to do it faster so it looks a lot better,” Sunday Rose recalled. “I definitely do feel a lot more confident this time … I kind of feel like I’ve been able to express myself more this time.”
Alongside Sunday Rose, Urban and Kidman are parents to daughter Faith Margaret, 14. The Babygirl actress is also mom to daughter Bella Kidman Cruise and son Connor Cruise, whom she shares with ex Tom Cruise.
