In addition to stunning on the Met Gala red carpet, Stevie Wonder and Usher rocked the stage inside the event.
The 2025 Met Gala took place on Monday, May 5, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the two stylish superstars delivered hit-filled performances for an A-list crowd.
According to Vogue, the set was introduced with a poetry reading from one of this year’s co-chairs, Colman Domingo. Usher, 46, then emerged to perform 2004’s “Yeah!,” 2001’s “U Don’t Have to Call” and 2010’s “OMG” with a group of dancers. At one point, he fed Sabrina Carpenter a cherry.

Usher sang and danced to the three songs while sporting red and white suits by Willy Chavarria and a pin by Ouie, also wearing a Brandan Murphy trench coat and a Stetson hat during the evening, the outlet reported.

Wonder, 74, took the stage next with a nine-piece band and delivered renditions of “Sir Duke,” “Black Man,” “Higher Ground,” “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” “I Wish” and “Superstition,” per Vogue. He concluded with a version of “Another Star” with Usher.

The outlet reported the 25-time Grammy winner wore a Sergio Hudson suit for the engagement.
This year’s Met Gala dress code was “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. Usher was part of the star-studded host committee alongside Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee and Angel Reese.
On the carpet, Usher wore a classic black three-piece suit that he paired with a bowtie, a silver button closure chain, a glittering brooch as well as a white scarf, tossed carefully over his shoulders as he posed alone at first, then, with his wife Jennifer Goicoechea.

Meanwhile, Wonder wore a cape with a long train alongside a matching jacket, black trousers, his signature shades and a black beret, plus jewelry by De Beers and David Yurman. He was joined by family, wife Tomeeka Robyn Bracy and son Kailand Morris, who matched his energy in black looks — all by Sergio Hudson.
Last October, Vogue announced Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairs for this year’s Met Gala, alongside LeBron James as honorary chair. The event is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, also titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
