Stevie Nicks Once Revealed How Fleetwood Mac ‘Protected’ Her From Challenges Many Women Faced in the Music Industry originally appeared on Parade.
Stevie Nicks is among an elite list of women who paved the way in rock music. When she joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974, it was almost unheard of for a woman to be the lead singer in a band.

With the reissue of Nicks and former bandmate and boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham’s 1973 Buckingham Nicks album, fans have been revisiting the band’s hits and their history.
