“Squid Game” broke a new record for Netflix when it debuted its third and final season last Friday. Over the first three days of its availability, the smash-hit Korean drama drew 60.1 million views, setting a new high for the streamer, per the weekly Netflix Top 10 list.
With that impressive opening stat, “Squid Game” Season 3 is now Netflix’s ninth most-watched non-English TV show ever on the streamer’s regularly updated list of most popular series overall.

In comparison, “Squid Game” Season 2 debuted with 68 million views in its first four days of availability following its Dec. 26 launch (a Thursday compared to Season 3’s Friday release) — which was more than any other Netflix series had achieved in its premiere week, beating a record that “Wednesday” set with 50.1 million views in 2022.
(Netflix’s Top 10 viewership lists run Monday-Sunday, meaning “Squid Game” Season 2 had four days worth of data available at the time of its premiere list, while “Squid Game” Season 3 only has its first three days included in the data.)
Following its premiere weekend, the second season of “Squid Game” also rapidly landed on Netflix’s list of its most popular non-English language TV titles of all time at No. 7.
“Squid Game” Season 3 followed Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as he continued on through the titular deadly competition in an attempt to overthrow the games and prove humanity’s worth to the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun).
