Kyle Filipowski thought he sent the game into double overtime on Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The former Duke star and Utah Jazz center threw down a huge dunk with just 1.9 seconds left in the extra period of their Summer League game with the San Antonio Spurs to tie things up in incredible fashion.

But instead, it was Riley Minix who called game on the other end. Minix caught an inbounds pass and hit a fadeaway contested bucket from the short corner to lift the Spurs to the win — which sparked a huge celebration on the floor in Las Vegas.

Minix played his way into a two-way deal with the Spurs last summer after he went undrafted out of Morehead State. He missed most of the year, however, after he tore his labrum in his left shoulder and needed season-ending surgery in January.

Minix had 13 points and six rebounds in the win for the Spurs, which pushed them to a perfect 3-0 in Las Vegas.

The shot was only made possible by Filipowski, who grabbed a rebound off a missed free throw on the other end and somehow managed to fight his way into position to complete one of the best dunks of the night.

Filipowski averaged 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last season with the Jazz, who selected him with the No. 32 overall pick in the draft last summer. He had 35 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Utah on Monday night. The Jazz now sit at 0-3.

Though it was a huge outing from Filipowski, it somehow wasn’t enough to give the Jazz their first win of the summer. If nothing else, Filipowski and Minix put up the most entertaining game of the night.
