Slithering Science: A 5-Day Unit Plan on Snakes

Snakes, a mysterious group of cold-blooded reptiles, are renowned for their unique features that make them some of the most fascinating creatures in the animal kingdom. With over 3,000 species, snakes come in a vast range of shapes, colors and sizes, showcasing their remarkable diversity. While extremely diverse, snakes also share common characteristics that are essential to their way of life, like shedding their skin and slithering movements.

In our five-day unit plan, students will investigate deeper into the world of snakes, exploring more about their shared traits, various species of snakes, where they live, their carnivorous diets and the way in which they reproduce.
