There are actors out there who are nothing like their most famous on-screen characters—the entire White Lotus season three cast, for example. But Sarah Jessica Parker? She is Carrie Bradshaw.
This Monday in New York City, the Sex and the City star pulled a styling move straight from Bradshaw’s fashion language: taking something wacky and making it even wackier. In this case, the piece in question was a pair of gray skinny jeans. Now, the skintight pants are already extremely controversial (as we’ve come to embrace the rise of the baggier, the better) but the actor managed to make them even more divisive by folding them up at the hems to make them look like capris—another questionable style.
When I saw the look, I couldn’t help but wonder, could anyone else pull this off, ever?
SJP wore her skinny-turned-capri jeans with a light-gray sweater with a twisted neckline, a black double-breasted coat, and black leather knee-high boots.
She accessorized the subdued fit with a cement-gray quilted handbag featuring a chain strap, plus dark shield sunglasses, diamond studs, and a dangly diamond necklace.
Parker changed out of her controversial pants and into a dress for another Monday outing in the city. It was a black-and-white houndstooth midi dress with ruched detailing down the center. The And Just Like That… star styled the dress with black peep-toe heels—each with a pretty ankle strap—and her same coat, bag, and shades.
