Sister Wives star Gwendlyn Brown made a bold claim about her and her siblings getting paid for the TLC show.

In a May 14 interview with Teen Vogue, the 23-year-old daughter of Kody Brown and Christine (Brown) Woolley opened up about growing up on reality TV.

During the sit-down, Gwendlyn explained that she was “super into” filming for the show when she was younger.

“We just got thrown into fame and thrown into money. And I stopped wanting and needing things,” she told the publication. “Life is a lot easier for a kid that’s not going hungry. It was quite a blessing initially.”

However, she noted that she and her 17 siblings—between Kody’s four wives, Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn(although he’s now only married to Robyn)—were not directly paid for appearing on Sister Wives.

“The network only paid the parents,” Gwendlyn claimed. “I’m not sure if they did or didn’t expect the parents to pay us kids, but we weren’t paid.”

Ultimately, Gwendlyn said Christine chose to pay her six kids, Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely “a certain amount per day or half-day of camera time.”

“It certainly hasn’t been a fair share,” she added.

Christine confirmed to the publication that her kids weren’t paid when the series started but noted that money was saved for their vehicles and college funds.

“Compensation is handled in accordance with contractual commitments and applicable labor laws and regulations,” a spokesperson for TLC told Teen Vogue. Parade reached out to TLC.

Fellow former TLC star Jill Duggar—of 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fame—made similar claims of not getting paid by her parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar.
