K-pop singer Lisa of Blackpink drew criticism for her look at her first Met Gala in 2025, with the 28-year-old arriving at the event on May 5 in Louis Vuitton tights, a black embellished blazer and unique panties.
Lisa embraced the pantsless trend for the Met Gala, showing off her toned figure as she posed with her hair in a sultry updo, but what really drew fans’ attention were the figures embellished on her bottoms.

A closer look at the pants showed what appeared to be images of important Black figures in history, including Rosa Parks. This led many people to call Lisa out, as the move comes around a month after old clips from before she debuted as a K-pop idol showed her and fellow Blackpink members saying the n-word while performing in auditions.
After the videos were leaked to the public, neither Lisa nor fellow members Rosé and Jennie apologized or publicly acknowledged their past use of the n-word. Because of this and where the faces were located on Lisa’s Met Gala outfit, fans were openly critical of the look.
“Rosa parks on your underwear less than 3 months after a compilation of you saying the n word goes viral is kinda crazy but maybe thats just me!” wrote one such fan, while another said, “who the hell decided it was a good idea to put the faces of influential black women on a pair of PANTIES.”
Another called the White Lotus star’s outfit the “hands down worst look of the night.”
But there were also supporters of Lisa’s Met Gala debut look, with complimentary comments like, “Her first ever MET, she ate that ✔️,” “The hair and the glam ❤️,” and “Mother served a lot.”
“Stunning. The juxtaposition of a simplistic silhouette with the mixing of patterns makes this one unique. Love it,” said another fan of the look.
