Simone Biles might be most well-known for her athletic career, but the young woman has also become a fashion icon in recent years. But for some fans, her style sense was lacking with her unique 2025 Met Gala look.
The 28-year-old arrived at the event in New York City on May 5 with her husband, Jonathan Owens, by her side. The two wore complementary outfits, with Biles rocking an electric blue dress that was very short, showing off her toned legs, while a large train extended behind her. The dress had a bold white collar and flower embellishments all over the front, and she wore tall heels to add height.

By her side, Owens had on an all-white look featuring a suit with fringe on the sleeve and pant hems, along with white fur hanging over his shoulder and an elegant cane in one hand. The couple’s looks presented a unique take on the year’s theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and they both served on the committee this year.
On social media, fans shared their honest takes on Biles’ look, with many confused by the ensemble. “Sorry, chop,” read one blunt message, as other critics wrote, “girl, jump out of that mess,” and “Who did that (dress) to her? 🫣.”
“ITS GIVIN WILLY WONKA & CHOCOLATE FKN FACTORY 🏭,” read another rough response, as someone else said, “The dress looks like a wasted potential it definitely could’ve been turned into something better.”
