Shocking pictures of Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, were published by the New York Post on May 9. The 48-year-old was spotted outside of Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont looking disheveled and fans are very concerned for his well being.
Per the outlet, Allman was wearing loose-fitting ripped clothing and had open sores on his legs.
Many people took to X where they reacted to the pictures, which the Post shared on social media.
“Dang, that’s heartbreaking,” one person wrote.
“That is a sad photo,” someone else said.
“Praying for his mental, emotional and physical healing,” a third comment read.
“I remember when he was born. Cutest little guy. I hope he gets the help he needs,” a fourth X user added.
The photos of Allman — whose father is musician Gregg Allman, whom Cher was married to from 1975 to 1979 — come eight months after Cher ended her bid for conservatorship.
“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition,” Allman’s attorneys, Avi Levy and Steven Brumer of California’s Cage & Miles, LLP, told People magazine at the time. “This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today.”
Cher filed the conservatorship petition in 2023 alleging that her son was struggling with substance abuse issues and had an inability to “manage his own financial resources,” according to Page Six.
“While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time,” Elijah’s court filing read, in part, according to Fortune.
Cher’s attorney called the conservatorship “a life-and-death proposition.”
Also in recent months, Elijah’s wife, Marieangela King, filed for divorce.
“We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart,” King told People in April. “As we turn the page to this next chapter, we kindly ask for privacy and truly appreciate your understanding.”
