Shang-Chi star Simu Liu just added another ring to his collection — an engagement ring!
The star of the 2021 Marvel blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings recently proposed to his girlfriend since 2022, Allison Hsu, and she said yes. On Sunday, he shared a photo of Hsu wearing her engagement ring.
“From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always,” Liu, 36, captioned it.
His bride-to-be, 28, followed with her own post, a collection a photos of the couple posing on what appears to be a hotel balcony in Paris. The lit-up Eiffel Tower could be seen in the background in a couple.
She wrote simply: “Us forever.”
Liu, whose credits also include Barbie and TV’s Kim’s Convenience, has previously raved about Hsu. Thanks to her, he learned about the joy of listening to Taylor Swift and many other subjects.
“I think she really just has taught me the value in so many things. She’s absolutely changed my life, so I’m very, very grateful to have her,” Liu told PEOPLE in August 2023. “She’s really taught me that you have to fight for the time with the people that you love, she’s really taught me that you need to be intentional and tend to each and every one of the relationships that matter to you.”
Hsu is a digital marketing director at Interscope Records, where, per Forbes, she promotes artists including Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish, who won an Oscar for “What Was I Made For?,” the song Eilish and brother Finneas O’Connell wrote for Liu’s Barbie.
Liu, whose upcoming projects include a Shang-Chi sequel, Shang-Chi and the Wreckage of Time, and Avengers: Doomsday, has also described his fiancée as tough, in the best way.

“She’s a badass, she’s a fighter, and she’s very, very passionate about all things in life, her work, her job, and her other things,” Liu told PEOPLE in December 2022. “And that’s a language that I speak very well, and I am happy to see where it goes.”
She described him, while wishing him happy birthday in April 2023, as “the funniest, warmest, most thoughtful, kind, and precious human.”
