Shakira was eager to talk about fellow singer, Rihanna‘s pregnancy with her third child!
Page Six reported that Shakira spoke to NBC Los Angeles while walking the red carpet for the 2025 Met Gala. During the interview, the reporter inquired which celebrity she was excited to see during the glamorous event. Shakira was quick to reply, “Rihanna! I want to see her.” After Shakira said she “just heard the news” about Rihanna, the NBC Los Angeles reporter asked for clarification.
“She’s pregnant,” responded Shakira.
Shakira, looking flustered, placed her hands on her cheeks.
“Am I not supposed to say that? Aw,” said a wide-eyed Shakira, while laughing, in front of the NBC Los Angeles camera.
While Shakira seemed concerned that she outed Rihanna’s pregnancy news, photographer Miles Diggs shared a picture that featured the “Umbrella” singer showcasing her baby bump hours before the 2025 Met Gala on his Instagram account, per People magazine.
According to the Associated Press, Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky spoke about getting ready for their third child at the Met Gala, held on May 5, as reported by People. The couple, who have been together since 2019, have two children, RZA Athelston Mayers, who is nearly 3, and Riot Rose Mayers, 21 months.
“It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up,” said A$AP Rocky to reporters at the 2025 Met Gala.
In addition, he said he appreciated fans’ support for his growing family.
“And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ‘cause we definitely happy, you know,” continued A$AP Rocky. “Honestly, it’s a blessing nonetheless. Because you know how like some people in other situations at times can be envious of other people. But we’ve been seeing love for the most part. And we real receptive to that and appreciate that, you know what I mean? That’s love. Love is love.”
