Getting buff!
Sarah Michelle Gellar worked up a sweat in the gym while preparing for the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot — and she wasn’t alone. Joining her was Sunnydale’s newest Slayer, Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
“Warrior 1 and 2,” Gellar, 48 captioned a video of the pair doing weighted lunges and holding planks on medicine balls. “We don’t sweat … we sparkle.”
Fans were elated to see Gellar back in fighting form. “Still got it,” commented an Instagram user. “Love this so much,” wrote another. Others were just thrilled to get a glimpse of Gellar and Armstrong, 15, training alongside each other. “Welcome to the slayer team!,” said a fan.

Over two decades after the series finale aired in 2003, the supernatural drama is being revived by Hulu with the support of Gellar, who will reprise her role as Buffy Summers opposite Armstrong, whose character Nova has been described as an introverted high schooler.
“For so many years, I said no to a possible return of the series,” Gellar admitted at the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, per Vanity Fair. “I didn’t want to reintroduce something we had already seen. I waited for the right time to come. Then [Eternals director Chloé Zhao], a big Buffy fan, proposed the project to me, and I accepted.”

As for how the reboot will compare to the original, “it will be lighter than the last few seasons,” she said. “We will try to find a balance between new and old characters. My dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space will have to be made for new stories as well.”
