  • Rylee Arnold faced an in-flight health scare after leaving her insulin at home

  • After noticing her blood sugar was high, she went looking for her insulin only to realize that she didn’t have it

  • The Dancing with the Stars pro has been open about her Type 1 diabetes diagnosis in recent years, saying that she is “incredibly grateful for the strength” it has given her

Rylee Arnold is opening up about a scary moment in the sky.

The Dancing with the Stars pro, 20, revealed in a TikTok video posted on Thursday, July 31 that she had accidentally left her insulin behind before boarding a flight. She uses the medication to manage her Type 1 diabetes.

“Just got on the plane and went to grab some insulin from my bag because my blood sugar is starting to go high,” Arnold wrote in text over the video, which showed her looking concerned while sitting in her airplane seat.

“Then when I looked in my bag I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE! I’m now just realizing I left it at my apartment 😭,” the dancer continued.

Following up in the caption, Arnold wrote, “Never have I ever done this to myself.” She then expressed her relief at the fact that it would be a short flight, adding, “😅 should I just drink a bunch of water or something?? 😭 #type1diabetes”

Concerned fans were quick to flood the comments with advice and support for Arnold. Among them was fellow DWTS pro Ezra Sosa, who wrote in all caps, “ARE YOU ALIVE OH MY GOD.”

Arnold was quick to assuage fans’ fears, though, posting a follow-up video a few hours later with a dancing update. Writing over the video, the star let fans know that she was “alive and well” and that she had been able to get insulin “right as I landed.”

In the caption, Arnold followed up, saying she was “super tired from the high blood sugar,” but that it was “okay cause we figured it out.”

Fans expressed relief in the comment section, with one user writing, “literally was stressing for you 😭.” Another indicated she was ready to step in, writing, “girl I was panicking 🥲 like who do I call?”

In a post to her Instagram in May 2024, Arnold reflected on her journey navigating her Type 1 diabetes diagnosis. “Although it was one of the hardest times in my life and one of the biggest learning curves for me, I’m incredibly grateful for the strength it has given me,” she wrote.

“I remember when I was first diagnosed I didn’t want my diagnosis to stop me from living my dreams and working hard for the things I wanted. The fact that I have had the most amazing year, fulfilling my biggest dreams, makes me so grateful and happy!” she continued.

She has also updated fans about her health in a recent video. “So turns out you can get shingles as a 20-year-old 😭,” Arnold captioned a TikTok video of herself in her car on June 25. “Any tips or recommendations are heavily needed right now 🥰.”

In another follow-up video, the dancer posted a “fit check with shingles video,” in which she can be seen flashing thumbs up at the camera and wearing an icepack.
