A Royal Caribbean cruise guest has been left with injuries following a malfunction on the ship’s water slide.
The incident occurred on Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas when the acrylic glass panel broke while the passenger was using the slide on Thursday, Aug. 7, according to ABC News.
While the identity of the person has remained hidden, the man is reportedly in stable condition, the outlet reported.
Footage of the incident captured water gushing out of the section of the slide where the glass broke, per CBS News.

The video was captured by Jim Muldoon, showcasing passengers yelling and shouting, “Stop the slide. Stop the slide,” according to the outlet.
In a statement issued to PEOPLE, Royal Caribbean Group said, “Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide.”
“The guest is being treated for his injuries,” they added.

The Royal Caribbean Group did not reveal how severe the guest’s injuries were.
“The water slide is closed for the remainder of the sailing pending an investigation,” officials concluded.
The cruise will be returning to Miami by Saturday, according to CBS News.
Thursday’s incident comes after another cruise passenger on Icon of the Seas fell over the glass railing of an infinity pool last month.

PEOPLE previously reported that the man was trying to retrieve his glasses on Sunday, July 27.
In an Instagram video shared by Only in Florida, the person was seen with his upper body hanging over the edge of the glass railing with his legs up in the air before falling over the railing.

“A guest accidentally fell onto the pool gutter after reaching over to retrieve their sunglasses,” a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean Group told PEOPLE at the time. “Our crew immediately attended to the guest and fortunately the guest did not experience any injuries.”
