Rod Stewart‘s son has made a major life detour.
19-year-old Alastair Stewart — son of Rod and wife Penny Lancaster — opened up about his future while speaking with the Daily Mail at the premiere of David Attenborough‘s new documentary, Ocean.
As he explained, he’s no longer a student at JCA London Fashion Academy, where he started a three-year undergraduate course in fashion design last year.
“I was attending that fashion college, but I’ve left now,” he said, adding, “I’m in a bit of a transitional period at the moment.”
“I’m trying to get into the film industry, and I want to follow my passion,” he continued. “I’ve made a few short plays, I write a lot of scripts, and I write a lot of screenplays.”
The aspiring playwright and screenwriter walked the red carpet alongside mom Penny, 54, who wore a long green dress with sequined detailing under a brown fur coat, her blonde hair falling to her shoulders in full, soft waves. Alastair, for his part, was dressed in grey jacket over a white shirt and dark pants, accessorizing with a black-and-grey bowtie. His hair was pulled back in a low ponytail.
Alastair is Rod’s second youngest child, as the legendary rocker is a father of eight kids in total. The 80-year-old singer shares his eldest child, Sarah, 61, with ex-girlfriendSusannah Boffey. Kimberly, 45, and Sean, 44, are from his first marriage to Alana Stewart; Ruby, 37, is a product of his relationship with model Kelly Emberg. During his second marriage to model Rachel Hunter, Rod welcomed Liam, 30, and Renee, 32, while sons Alastair, 19, and Aidan, 14, are from his current and third marriage to Penny.
