The desert rock gods have spoken, and Josh Homme‘s Queens of the Stone Age just delivered the announcement that has fans declaring “NOBODY MOVE I’LL BE THERE.” The Palm Desert legends unveiled their Catacombs Tour, a limited series of intimate theater performances that promises to reinvent the QOTSA experience entirely.
This isn’t your typical arena rock spectacle. The Catacombs Tour represents something unprecedented in the band’s 29-year history – all-new song arrangements crafted specifically for historic venues like Chicago’s legendary Chicago Theatre, New York’s iconic Beacon Theatre, and Los Angeles’ prestigious Dolby Theatre.
The inspiration stems from their acclaimed Alive in the Catacombs cinematic performance, filmed in the haunting underground chambers of Paris. That sublime subterranean experience birthed a concept that will “twist the volume knob in both directions,” promising both thunderous and whisper-quiet moments enhanced by assembled ensembles.
The tour kicks off October 2 in Chicago and winds through Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York before jumping to the West Coast for Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Hollywood dates. The journey concludes with stops in Austin and New Orleans, creating a carefully curated cross-country experience.
