Mick Fleetwood is paying tribute to an important Fleetwood Mac collaborator.
The 77-year-old took to Instagram on May 8 to pay tribute to Curry Grant, a lighting designer and long-time collaborator of Fleetwood Mac after he died at 73 years old on May 3.
Fleetwood share a rare behind-the-scenes photo “backstage during the ‘Rumors’ tour,” which included him with Grant and fellow Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie, who died back in November 2022.

“Heartbroken to hear of the passing of our dear friend Curry Grant,” Fleetwood wrote in his caption. “He was part of the Fleetwood Mac family and brought so much spark to every room he entered.”
Fleetwood called Grant “a true original — full of laughter, soul” and recalled how much “we loved working with him.”

According to Grant’s obituary, he was considered “a beloved figure in the live music industry and a man whose charisma could light up any room – or stage.”
Grant’s career in lighting ” spanned more than four decades” and worked with other music acts like Supertramp and Crosby, Stills & Nash. His lighting designs also shaped “legendary moments on HBO concert specials and classic MTV videos for Hall & Oates, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, and Stevie Nicks.”
Along with his work in lighting, Grant also allegedly served as “inspiration for the songs ‘You Make Loving Fun’ and ‘Songbird’ from Fleetwood Mac’s aptly-titled album Rumors.”
