Ozzy Osbourne has been gone for two weeks but his memory will be eternal. The Black Sabbath frontman greatly impacted rock music over the course of his career, leaving a mark on the industry that will never fade. That said, it makes perfect sense that even his death certificate would highlight his career.

On August 5, The New York Times shared details of Osbourne’s death certificate, which was filed in London by Osbourne’s daughter, Aimée Osbourne. In addition to his cause of death being listed as cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease, the death certificate also described the Prince of Darkness as a “songwriter, performer and rock legend.”

Osbourne’s death came just weeks after his final concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham. Concerns for Osbourne’s health had increased in recent months, and fans were worried about him after seeing him at the “Back to the Beginning” show as he performed on stage while sitting down. Despite the concerns, Osbourne’s death came as a shock to many fans.
